Whitewebbs Cycling Club 2017

Important Announcement

Fred Meekcoms Memorial Trophy
10 Mile time Trial
Saturday 1st July 2017

COURSE CHANGE

Course changed to the E64/10 due to roadworks on the A10.

We originally hoped the roadworks would be finished by 1st July, but this now appears unlikely, so rather than taking a chance with the F20/10 and having to cancel at the last minute, we took the decision to use the E64/10.

If the roadworks are complete by the 1st July, the event wiill be held on the original F20/10 course.

The E64/10 goes from Stanstead St. Margaret's on the A414 out to Harlow and back. The course record of 20.07 was set in 1996, so it is a fast course on a good day.
All other information including the the HQ will remain the same.

Welcome to the Whitewebbs Cycling Club

Are you interested in cycling, want to try racing or just meet people of similar interests?

If so, Whitewebbs CC has much to offer

cyclists

We are a traditional club with weekly meetings every Thursday at 8:00 PM at the Pied Bull in Bullsmore Lane, Enfield, where you can meet other members and the committee, enjoy refreshments and have a good chat about anything or everything.

Our annual subscription is only £30.00, which includes subsidised clothing and is excellent value for money. We organise club events throughout the racing season and a prize winners dinner every year. The Brinley Lewis series of evening 10 mile time trials takes place on fast local courses and is very well supported and extremely competitive. We also have a 25 mile championship and a hill climb.

Whitewebbs also has many other awards for performances throughout the racing season and a BAR competition for those entering open events. All awards are presented at our annual Christmas lunch and prize giving in December. Club clothing is heavily subsidised by the club, for instance a skin suit is almost a third of the usual retail price. Whitewebbs CC promotes open road races and time trials during the racing season.

In addition to our Christmas dinner we have other social events during the year, including a summer BBQ, a winter wine & cheese evening with quiz competitions and prizes and social weekend breaks in interesting places. We are a very friendly club and for those who are new to cycling, our experienced members can offer advice on general riding, getting your riding position correctly set up, or advice on how to get into training and racing, whether time trials or road racing.

Sunday Club Runs

We meet on Sunday mornings at the junction of Bullsmoor lane / Hertford road on the corner by the Esso garage at 9:30 AM
